IMPORTANT NOTES:
***Please look at all the pictures carefully (and read the text in the photos) so you’ll know the sizes of the plants we’re offering in this listing.***

Dendrobium kingianum is an extremely easy orchid that anyone can grow. It’s a fast-growing orchid that tolerates a wide range of conditions, making it perfect for the beginning orchid grower. Its long-lasting blooms (flowers last around a month) also produce a beautiful fragrance. It comes from eastern Australia where it can handle temperatures near freezing in the winter, and into the triple digits in the summer. You can grow Den. kingianum inside the home or office, or outdoors (just bring it in during before freezing). It will adapt to any kind of loose media such as bark or even rocks (it is also known as the rock orchid). It only needs light, water, and occasional fertilizing to thrive.

Dendrobium kingianum would make a perfect addition to any orchid or plant collection, or a wonderful gift for someone who enjoys growing beautiful plants and wants to grow an orchid that you can’t find at the supermarket. Growing instructions are included.

PLEASE NOTE: These plants are NOT IN BLOOM when shipped. They will come potted in either New Zealand Sphagnum Moss or orchid bark (both work well for this kind of orchid).

Over the years, we’ve sold thousands of these plants with very few problems, but the following issues have been raised by just a handful of very finicky buyers. Nevertheless, in the interests of clarification, full disclosure, and in the spirit of ‘caveat emptor’, please read the following prior to purchasing:

1) Some plants may have OLD flower spikes from previous bloomings. Obviously, if a plant has bloomed before, it must be Blooming Size. This species can make new flower spikes right next to the old ones, so a cane with an old flower spike is not used/bad/damaged goods. You can trim off the old flower spikes once they’ve finished blooming.
2) Some older leaves may have dry leaf tips which we trim prior to shipping. This is purely cosmetic; the plant is NOT sick or damaged! If you feel that we’re being deceptive about the health of your plant because we’ve trimmed some leaf tips, please pass on this (and everything else from us).
3) White deposits are simply MINERAL deposits from the water or fertilizer we use. The plant is NOT sick or unhealthy. If you have a different opinion, that’s OK, but please pass on ordering.
4) (NOT SHOWN) Some older canes may have dropped all of their leaves. This is NATURAL and does not mean the plant is unhealthy. Older canes (i.e., pseudobulbs) store water and energy for the rest of the plant, and that’s a good thing!
